Registration for the 2021 Jack London Society Symposium (Dec. 9–12) in Sonoma is now open

Registration for the 2021 Jack London Society 15th Biennial Symposium (Dec. 9–12) is now open on the Jack London Society website. You may also sign up for the Jack London-themed boat excursion aboard the Pacific Pearl launching from the Vallejo Yacht Club at 11:00 AM on December 12 and the trip to the Wake Robin Lodge property on December 11. These events are both limited to 30 Jack London Society Symposium attendees. Deadline for symposium registration is Oct. 7.

Sunday, Dec. 12 

Special Jack London-themed boat excursion aboard the Pacific Pearl launching from the Vallejo Yacht Club at 11:00 AM for an exclusive guided tour of the Carquinez Strait for the Jack London Society. Space is limited to 30 Jack London Society Symposium attendees. ($80, sign up on the JLS website.)

Theorizing Jack London: The 2021 Jack London Society 15th Biennial Symposium:  

December 9­–12, 2021, Sonoma Valley Inn & Krug Event Center, Sonoma, California   

The 15th Biennial Jack London Society Symposium will be held December 9–12, 2021 at The Sonoma Valley Inn & Krug Event Center in Sonoma, California. The organizers encourage participants to experiment with innovative, alternative, and established theoretical approaches to the life and work of Jack London.We welcome papers and panel submissions on any aspect of the author’s life and work, including conventional 20-minute presentations. Proposals for roundtables or teaching presentations are encouraged, especially those that connect London with other writers and artists. Symposium activities will include a tour of nearby Jack London State Historic Park and its new museum exhibits in the House of Happy Walls https://jacklondonpark.com/. Attendees can also enjoy a special screening of a film adaptation of Martin Eden, and a Jack London-themed boating excursion on San Francisco Bay. Please email 200­-word abstract proposals (noting any audio/visual requests) along with complete contact information and a short biography to Kenneth K. Brandt at kbrandt@scad.edu. Proposal deadline is September 30, 2021.
