At the end of our street… Vizcaino Avenue in my town of Carmel, CA is a board and batten cottage painted red with white trim. Several of our neighbors say that Jack London lived there for a period of time, but none is sure, and the occupants are renters. The oldest person in the neighborhood is 92 and sharp, and I plan to ask him. Professor Jurick at SJ State Univ who is an expert on poet Robinson Jeffers suggest I ask your society for any information.

I’m a proud owner of a rare, original Jack London signed oil painting. Subject is early, Asian fishing boats. Secondary framing has been dated to approx. 80+ years. I believe this painting to be an original, painted by Mr. London himself, prior to his passing. I’ve a collection of photos (of re-framed canvas),should any one be in question of this oil painting. I whole-hardheartedly believe this canvas work was created by Mr. Jack London. Sincerely,

Thank You. Many years back I had been in contact with the Jack London Society & other’s in regards to my Great Grand Fathers personal Memoir entitled, The Ups & Down’s of John Doe. Maybe not the most exciting title but he did have one heck of a ride here. It has not yet been researched or known by this society or other’s in the circle of Jack London but during the years in Dawson my Great Grand Father was cabin mates with this man. There is nearly a whole chapter dedicated to his experiences & nearly 8 pages of recalled conversations with Mr. London. I have had his yet unpublished manuscript in my possession for a little over a year now & am now actively searching for publishing assistance. Early last year I put a proposal to Syracuse University ( Alumni & also friend of Steven Crane ). Unfortunately, they are no longer publishing memoirs. I am a member of Jack London Society in Japan.His work Four Horses and a Sailor said ・・・I would see the leaders swing abrupty around around into a jack-pole .・・・nothing can compare with a jack-pole. I ask you what a jack pole is.Please someone teach me this meaning or change this words to easy word.
The Earle Labor book, Jack London, An American Life, reports on Jack and Charmian visiting George Sterling in Carmel, but does not mention a specific address. I presume the town or the county will have a historical society that may be able to help.
I am researching some of the deceased buried in Brockley & Ladywell cemeteries ( SE London-England) Among those buried here are members of the Cavilla family who are featured in C22 of’ People of the Abyss’ – the 1902 murder case and trial were widely covered by contemporary news outlets – Do you know if JL had any other thoughts on the case outside of his book?
