This episode of Sounding the Call: An All Things Jack London Podcast focuses on Iris Jamahl Dunkle’s groundbreaking new biography entitled Charmian Kittredge London: Trailblazer, Author, Adventurer. It is the first full-length biography on Charmian London, Jack London’s wife, and was published by the University of Oklahoma Press in the fall of 2020. A biographer, scholar, and poet, Dr. Dunkle writes and lives in Northern California. She teaches at Napa Valley College and is the Poetry Director of the Napa Valley Writers’ Conference. She was the 2017-2018 Poet Laureate of Sonoma County, CA, and her newest collection of poems, West : Fire : Archive is forthcoming in 2021 from The Center for Literary Publishing.
