Hello my name is Duncan and I would like to know more about Jack london as I am doing a national history day project and I would like to ask some questions. Please contact me at my email.
I have for sale two original posters. Both are three sheets, linen backed and in excellent condition with minimal restoration work. One is based on the movie ” An Odyssey of the North ” with a head and shoulder photo of Jack London and his signature located in the top right hand corner. The caption of the poster image is ” Nass Teaches himself to read”. This is a known image with wide circulation, however in a three sheet version is rare.
The second poster is for the movie ” Burning Daylight ” and it’s image is not in circulation in any size poster. “Picturized from Jack London’s famous story of the Klondike”, the image is of a man dressed in a parka warming his hands over an open campfire with two huskies and dogsled in the background. The caption reads ” Burning Daylight while on his mail contract endures many hardships ”
Any interest to purchase one, or both ? They don’t make movie posters like this anymore.
How can I find out who owns the publication and/or theatrical/broadcast rights to Martin Eden?
Hello…since many years there was no new German version of “The people of the abyss”…so we have the plan to issue a new one. For such a project it would be great to have the photos from Jack London which he made in EastLondon. Does anybody know if there is a chance of obtaining such a collection or is our idea simply naive?

Hello,
I curate the Palmyra Atoll Digital Archive, the largest collection of historical material on Palmyra, and I’ve been trying to track down a Jack London story which purportedly takes place on Palmyra, mentioned in several newspaper articles, written sometime around 1911. Despite its mention, a title is never given and I’ve been unable to track it down. I’ve linked one of the articles which best describes it below, but here’s a quote from that:
“This is the island (Palmyra) which forms the scene of an amusing treasure story which Jack London wrote for a recent issue of the Saturday Evening Post…”
It goes on to mention:
“Jack London took that transaction (a story described in the article), which the story-tellers say occurred at Honolulu, and transferred it over to Palmyra.”
Would love to know if you have any ideas which story this might be, or where I might find a copy. Despite looking through his bibliography, and any listed stories he wrote for the Saturday Evening Post, I’ve been unable to find anything. Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have.

Dear members of Jack London Society, is it possible to find out more about the Snark crew members? I work for a local museum in Kemerovo (Russia, Siberia), we have a vast collection of documents related to the history of the Autonomous Industrial Colony Kuzbass (1921 – 1926): it was a group of enthusiastic politically active foreigners who came to Soviet Russia to improve the local industry. While reading Powers Hapgood diary (he visited the colony in 1925), I came across a certain colonist of Irish-American origin named Mangus who told Hapgood he and his wife had participated in the famous Snark cruise with Jack London. I got curious and wanted to check on the information, but an internet search did ot give any results. Would you kindly advise me on the matter?
Hello, I am doing preliminary research on a potential article. I am looking for any information on Jack London’s time in El Paso/Juarez during the Mexican Revolution around 1910 to 1911 – during the time when he wrote “The Mexican.” Any and all info is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I have a letter from JL written in 1906 to my great grandfather, James Francis Dwyer. I’m hoping to get some information as to how I might go about having it authenticated and/or valued. I didn’t know where to start. Thank you in advance.

Which island group is the 4th story, Yah, Yah ,Yah in South Sea Tales and featuring Nihi, Oolong and Palau, actually set in ??????
Do you sell the Yours for the Revolution t-shirts that I bought at a Symposium in 2016 or 2018? If so, how much and where do I order?
If not, might the Society be interested in sharing the design with the CA Writers Club, Berkeley Branch.
Hi,
I’m trying to get in touch with museum curator Carol Dodge regards to some research…?
Thanks
Hello,
For a Smithsonian publication on skateboarding, I am researching the relationship between George Freeth and Jack London. Specifically, I am looking to reproduce any images of London surfing or any images of Freeth with London. I would appreciate any help you could give me in finding the copyright holders of these images.
Thank you,
Betsy Gordon
Dear Ms. Gordon,
You might want to get in touch directly with Ken Brandt, the Executive Director of the Jack London Society, at the Savannah College of Art and Design, since he might not see this message directly.
Best,
Donna Campbell, Washington State University
I am hoping to get a copy of Call of the Wild.
My problem is getting an original text version. There are several publications available and some are apparently poor quality?
Can you recommend the best? Publisher and ISBN would be helpful.

Hello Jack London Society Members,
My name is Jim Kiley and my great uncle was the late Martin J. Egan (1872-1938), a war correspondent during the Russo-Japanese War, writer for Sunset magazine, the “Propagandist” for General Pershing during WWI, and the Public Relations and Executive Liaison for JP Morgan, Jr. and staff at JP Morgan.
My uncle was born in Martinez, CA and lived in the San Francisco/Oakland area for many years before moving to New York City.
Years ago I read a blog that detailed my uncle’s friendship with Jack London. They met often at a bar in Oakland and spent many good times together. The blog states that Jack London wanted to name his novel, Martin Eden, Martin Egan, but my uncle insisted he not use his name for the novel. Has anyone heard this story, or found any documents that talk about this possibility?
My Uncle was very well connected around the world, with several friends of notoriety, and the time frame and place in Oakland matches up to his likelihood of knowing Jack. I can’t find the blog online anymore but I read it through many times. I can’t recall the name of the bar but it was apparently Jack’s favorite watering hole in the Oakland area.
